Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

ResidentConnect (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a platform that connects NEET-PG students with verified medical residents, mentors, and consultants across India. Our registered office is in India. For privacy-related queries, contact us at privacy@residentconnect.in.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — name, email, mobile number, username, and (hashed) password.
  • Professional information (residents) — medical college, state, course, specialty, current designation, and institute type.
  • Academic information (students) — NEET PG rank, current college, and preferred specialty.
  • Payment information — processed exclusively by Razorpay. We do not store card numbers or UPI IDs.
  • Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, and timestamps for fraud prevention and analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To match students with available residents, mentors, or consultants.
  • To process payments and issue receipts via Razorpay.
  • To send transactional SMS and email notifications (OTP, booking confirmation).
  • To improve platform quality through anonymised analytics.
  • To comply with applicable Indian law, including the IT Act, 2000 and DPDPA, 2023.

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored in Google Sheets secured under your organisation’s Google Workspace. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Passwords are stored as SHA-256 hashes and are never readable.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Razorpay — for payment processing (their privacy policy applies).
  • SMS / OTP providers — solely for mobile verification.
  • Authorities — if required by law, court order, or regulatory direction.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

6. Resident Profile Visibility

Your profile (college, specialty, designation, and a masked display name) is visible to verified students once an admin marks your profile as verified and you set “ready to share”. Your full name, email, and mobile number are nevershown to students.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this may affect your ability to use the platform).

8. Cookies

We use localStorage (not cookies) to maintain your login session locally on your device. No tracking cookies are set by ResidentConnect. Third-party embeds (e.g. Razorpay) may set their own cookies, governed by their respective privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
